This is a fabulous vintage (at least before 1932) double snake ring which features two entwined serpents (which represent eternal, everlasting love, loyalty and friendship) each one with a sparkling gem on their heads. One carries a deep red ruby and one a lively diamond. The band is not hallmarked but has been tested for 15ct Gold.
The ring's face measures 12mm at its widest point and 3mm at the very back of the band. It currently measures a UK size N 1/2, which is a US size 7 and it weighs 1.9g. This ring remains in exceptional condition for its age, with only age related wear that can only be seen through a loupe.
Queen Victoria was an enthusiast of snake jewellery and had several pieces in her personal collection, notably her snake engagement ring from Prince Albert, which symbolised his everlasting love.
